Review Of The Year

This year – like the last – has been a testing one.

Yet through it all you've stood by us, and despite the challenges we've been able to release seven new products, seven new collaborations, field test a range of items on the UK's three highest peaks, and even move into a new studio south of the river (more on that to come).

By far our most popular design in 2021 was the Mechanical Pencil – with 1,220 backing the campaign on Kickstarter, 44% more than for our 2019 released Mechanical Pen.

The Winston Wallet in Charcoal lead the way for our leather collection, closely followed by our Cash Wallet. Cash clearly still has a place in your hearts.

Our artist collaboration with cartography studio Lást Maps has proven to be your most popular limited edition release of the year, narrowly edging out Delphin Musquet's tattoo-inspired skull & dagger artwork.

#MYWINGBACK JOURNEYS

Over the past 12 months, 567 of you generous folk took the time to leave your feedback, edging us tantalisingly close to hitting the magic 1,000 ★★ review milestone.

In total (since May 2020) we've offset 11,3 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions from our deliveries, the equivalent of 1.4 million smart phone charges, 45,134km of driving and 4,841 litres of gasoline guzzled.

It's a start but we know we need to do more – and you can read more about Our Commitment and pledge to reach carbon zero here.

Throughout the year we've also encouraged you – our community – to put your Wingback to the test on journeys through the city and into the unknown. And you haven't disappointed.

Here we've rounded up our favourite shots from your adventures and misadventures in 2021, picked out the best reviews and highlighted your most memorable inscriptions.

Best Inscriptions

Mark Twain, the father of American literature, has proven a popular source of inspiration for several among you. From "It takes a heap of sense to write good nonsense," to "The lack of money is the root of all evil".
